Exciting Things Are Happening at Asbury UMC

While much of the work has taken place behind the scenes so far, many months of planning and preparation have been underway with Woods Roofing, Krumvieda Construction, and the Leadership Team as we move forward with important improvements.


These improvements represent more than building updates—they are investments in the future ministry of Asbury. By caring for and strengthening our facilities today, we are creating welcoming, functional spaces that will support worship, discipleship, service, and community connections for years to come.

Construction You Can See

Krumvieda Construction, our contractor, will move onsite on July 13, 2026. The first projects will be replacing the Youth Room exterior door and remodeling the lower level bathrooms.

In the drawing above upcoming projects are noted.

  1. Replace Youth Room Exterior Door. This will become the main entrance to Asbury while construction is happening on project number 2 the Porte Cochere.
  2. Porte Cochere. This will extend the current overhang into the parking lot for a covered entrance large enough for vehicles to pass through and drop off passengers. This will take 3 to 6 weeks to complete.
  3. Sanctuary Windows in Peak. Replace the windows in the Sanctuary peak with double paned energy efficient windows. We will honor our roots by restoring the windows to the original design in the blueprints from the 1950s.

We are updating the church office. We are looking forward to:

TECH UPGRADES

New Equipment!

We are updating technology throughout the church. Here is a list of the upcoming projects as of 05-22-26.

PHONE SYSTEM UPGRADES

New Phones!

We are updating our phone system to a VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) system that allows us to make voice calls over the internet instead of traditional phone lines. This will offer us cost savings and include features such as voicemail for each staff member and caller ID. We will also add an adapter unit for the elevator so emergency calls can be made.


You will notice the new phones in place throughout the building. We are still currently using our old phone system until the new system is ready to go. 05-22-26

COLOR REFRESH

Fresh Paint!

Painting continues throughout the building as we refresh spaces used for worship, fellowship, and ministry. We are carrying our brand colors throughout Asbury: Agreeable Gray, Mega Greige, Capri, and Iron Ore!
