Homebound Ministry

The purpose of Asbury United Methodist Church  Homebound Ministry is to minister to church members who for whatever reason are unable to come to the church to worship.  The number of people on the Homebound List is constantly changing.   Volunteers visit each homebound member at least once each month.  Some workers visit as much as once each week.

Many times this ministry focuses more on the caregiver than to the homebound member who is on the list.  Some homebound members are unable to respond but have a caregiver who needs to be ministered to.

Communion is taken to the homebound person.  The scripture is read, hymns are sung, and communion is served.  This has been a special time for the workers as well as the homebound.

There are many "unsung heroes" who go quietly week after week to minister to our homebound.  It is a very rewarding ministry.

Volunteers are needed to help minister to our homebound members. All that is needed is for you to make a visit once a month to one of our homebound folks. If you are interested in working with the Homebound Ministry, please contact Pastor Martha.

Services are Sunday 8:00 - 9:15 - 11:15 - 5:00 Alive at 5
